Site Redesign
February 6th, 2009
Jason says I ought to write a post about the redesign.
Sounds like a good idea. Superfluous line breaks and all.
It pretty much comes down to my wanting to write more. I love twitter, it’s filled the “need to share” I’ve always had and is so quick, easy, ubiquitous and fun that I use it a ton (most would say too much). Sometimes though I want to expand on things, and here’s where I can.
It was fun iWeb, it really was, but having my site and blog tied to one physical computer meant there was only a few hours a day I could write and those were the same hours I didn’t feel like it.
No hard feelings, buddy.
Look! More line breaks!

iWeb, like most of Apple’s consumer software products are good at first, but then they leave you wanting more after a while. iWeb is cute, but it is just too darned limited. WordPress is a good choice. Easy to use, stable, and you can’t beat free.
I’m still freaked out by Gravatar. I didn’t expect to see my tomato there.
iWeb is actually very nice, and quite full featured (though admittedly not as much so as WP). What it really comes down to is not being tied to one device to post.
iTunes is nice, unless you want to use an iPhone on more than one computer, iPhoto is nice, unless you want to use a quick view of the photo full screen, iChat is nice until you get a lot of contacts across multiple platforms, iMovie… Well I haven’t used it enough to hit a point where I don’t like it yet.
Well, to use your iPhone on more than 1 computer, use Senuti. To preview photos in full screen just hit your space bar, or double click. It’s a setting
iMovie is damn near professional level.
You just hate iLife.
